Data Lead – Master Data & Governance

The Consultancy Group is collaborating with a distinguished global manufacturing business headquartered in London, with strategic offices spanning Europe and Singapore. Over the last two decades, the company has strategically acquired various businesses, resulting in a diverse portfolio of independently functioning entities. In an effort to enhance operational synergy, the organisation is launching a comprehensive Transformation Programme. This transformative initiative, spanning three years, is geared towards seamlessly integrating these disparate businesses into a harmonised entity. The primary focus is on the implementation of a unified ERP system, with a specific emphasis on SAP S/4HANA, along with streamlining associated processes. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Lead with a focus on Master Data and Governance to drive the success of this vital programme.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and execution of the Master Data and Governance strategy for the Finance Transformation Programme.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, business leaders, and external partners to define data requirements and ensure accurate and standardised data is available for the ERP implementation.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across the organisation.
• Design and implement data governance frameworks, including data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models.
• Oversee the creation, maintenance, and management of master data, ensuring alignment with business processes and SAP S/4HANA requirements.
• Develop data migration plans and strategies, ensuring smooth transition of data from legacy systems to the new ERP platform.
• Drive continuous improvement of data-related processes, identifying opportunities to streamline data management and enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data architecture and structures are optimised to support the unified ERP system and business processes.
• Provide subject matter expertise on SAP S/4HANA data structures and integrations within the context of supply chain operations.
• Develop and deliver data training programs to equip teams with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage and maintain data quality.
• Monitor data quality metrics, identify data issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Communicate data-related progress, challenges, and insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Substantial experience (minimum 5-7 years) in data management and governance, particularly within SAP environments, with a focus on supply chain operations.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA data structures and integration points, enabling effective alignment of master data with ERP processes.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
• Extensive background in master data management, data quality, and data migration strategies.
• Familiarity with data management tools and technologies.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills, with a history of successfully leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of interfacing with executive leadership and technical teams.
