Director of Engineering – Permanent role

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for leading the digital transformation efforts for our luxury retail client. In this role, you will be responsible for building out their internal capability and overseeing a team of engineers as they work to double their revenue for digital channels.  

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading engineering teams and a deep understanding of the engineering needs of a retail company. The Director of Engineering will be responsible for setting the technical direction for the company and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners. 

• Minimum of 3+ years in a senior leadership role 
• Proven background in digital transformation, digital commerce and app strategy 
• Experience leading product teams, including cross-functional teams 
• Strong understanding of the ecommerce and/or retail industry and its unique engineering needs 
• Proven ability to manage 3rd party suppliers, budgets and timelines effectively 
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners 
• Strong understanding of current digital technologies and trends, and ability to apply them to drive business growth 
• Experience in building and scaling engineering teams
