Head of Enterprise Architecture

Over the last 18 months, The Consultancy Group has been supporting a global Media business in mobilising and building out its Transformation team, following the successful separation from its parent company.  We are now looking to build a newly created Technology function, and we are seeking an experienced Head of Enterprise Architecture to lead this critical initiative.
As the Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the technology strategy. You will lead a team of skilled architects and work closely with various stakeholders to define and execute our enterprise architecture vision. The ideal candidate will have a deep and broad understanding of IT and architectural domains, including Business, Technology, Application, Data, Integration, and Security.  Additionally, you should possess strong knowledge of architecture modelling, modelling methodologies, and relevant tools.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement Enterprise Architecture Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the enterprise architecture strategy to align with the company’s business goals and transformation journey.
• Architectural Leadership: Provide thought leadership in enterprise architecture, making informed decisions to enhance business capabilities, technology solutions, and IT processes.
• Team Management: Build and manage a high-performing team of architects, ensuring their continuous development and alignment with the company’s objectives.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to understand their needs and translate them into architectural solutions.
• Architecture Governance: Establish and maintain architectural governance processes to ensure that technology solutions adhere to the defined architectural standards and guidelines.
• Modelling and Methodologies: Utilize architecture modelling methodologies and tools to create comprehensive architectural artifacts and ensure documentation is up-to-date.
• Risk Management: Identify and address architectural risks and issues proactively, taking necessary steps to mitigate potential problems.
• Technology Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies, assess their potential benefits to the organization, and make recommendations for adoption.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure that all architectural solutions comply with security and regulatory requirements, working closely with the security team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a senior-level enterprise architect, ideally in a similar industry.
• Extensive knowledge across all aspects of IT and architectural domains (Business, Technology, Application, Data, Integration, and Security).
• Strong expertise in architecture modelling, methodologies, and relevant tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Familiarity with the latest technology trends and their potential business impact.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, AWS, Azure) would be a plus.
